The effects on the bladder and bowel
The effects on the bladder and bowel
Someone going through anxiety, depression and other stress related problems might feel the need to go to the toilet more often. Muscles in the bladder and bowel relax, so there is an urge to go to the toilet. This is to make our body lighter so that we can run away from danger. We can move faster when we are lighter.
Once the person is relaxed and settled,
they will find that their stomach nerves and discomfort to the bladder and bowel
will go away. It is caused by the fight and flight responses, and
learning how to control these will also control the nerves that sends the
signals for our responses throughout the whole body.
