Murphy's letter from Edinburgh

Thanking all 1,937,031 of you

I have been astounded by the amount of hits that I have received since I started up Murphy's Edinburgh in June 2004.  That has now topped 1,922,650 since the beginning, and it's all down to you.  And for that I say a big thank you to you all for taking an interest in Edinburgh - Scotland's capital city.

You would have noticed that there have been a number of changes since I set up Murphy's Edinburgh originally - all for the better I hope.  I have put up some new photographs throughout the year of the many events and life in general in Edinburgh as I show off the city that I never get fed up with.

Murphy's Edinburgh is here to stay and I'm quite sure that many more events will be displayed as time moves on.  But I feel that it is you the people that are logging on to Murphy's Edinburgh that makes it all worthwhile.

The future and where Murphy's Edinburgh will be going in the future is still uncertain. It is still a young site and there is a lot of scope for it's development.  I sometimes feel that I need someone who is local to help me in this area by becoming part of Murphy's Edinburgh and it's development with some new ideas that fit in with the way that it is run, I am always open to new ideas from anyone who has ideas in that area providing that they have the skills.

I feel I must ask you how you found Murphy's Edinburgh in the first place?  Most people find the site that they are looking for through the use of the many search engines that can find almost anything on the web that they are looking for, and it's the people behind this technology that are the people who deserve a lot of the praise for bringing the world to our computers through the use of their programs at our disposal.

We tend too take search engines for granted because they are there, but a lot of work and development has gone into this software making them the must have software on any computer to search the Internet.  If we didn't have this technology, how would the Internet work?  It would be almost impossible to find anything, so each time you use your search engine, just think of the people behind it all and what makes it all work.

At this time of the year most people will be getting in to the Christmas and New Year spirit - not too much I hope.  I think the time is right to genuinely wish everyone worldwide a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year, Season Greetings to every one worldwide and a large thank you for logging on to Murphy's Edinburgh.
