Murphy's letter from Edinburgh

Creature of the worst kind

What kind of creature takes a group of school children as hostages and then uses them in their war against the civilised world hoping that we will give into them?  We as a civilised society can never give in to terrorism, and those who advocate that we should give them what they want are mistaken in every way.

The terrorist and all types of terrorism must be beaten at all costs.  If we should ever give the terrorist what they want, they will want more and more, and that is something we just cannot do.  The world is changing rapidly as the war with Islamic extremists becomes more apparent with the events in Russia and the Russian hostage taking.

We can't give in to unelected people who think that they can change our way of life by taking hostages and killing innocent people who at best don't even know what the terrorists want or what they are all about.  The shock tactics that are being used by these terrorists is becoming more extreme, and if that means taking a hard line with these people, then that's what we will have to do.

We rely on our elected governments and law enforcement agencies to deal with the problems that are becoming more frequent and that are becoming more apparent against our way of life.  But what part are we supposed play as these animals declare war on us?  Our government and law enforcement agencies can only act on the information that they can gather or receive in the fight against the terrorists.

We cannot and will not let these people get away with these types of acts against our way of life.  I have spoken out for more then twenty five years against these type of people who through some misplaced ideal seem to think that they can change our way of life and the world as we know it.

The world that I live in was shaped and moulded by our forefathers who stood up to the many challenges that they faced in their time.  We now have to do same in our time to ensure that the war that has been declared on us by terrorists can't be won by the actions that they have used and continue to use against us.

The terrorist will play on our emotions as they commit their acts of terrorism against us like the Twin Towers atrocities in the United States of America, Bali, Spain and the latest turn of events in Russia.  These are only a few of the acts that they have carried out against us, but what about all the other acts of terrorism that they have carried out against us in the many other parts of the world?

We are all involved in the fight against terrorism and we all have to stand together in this fight, because there is nothing that the terrorist would like better than to see us to start tearing ourselves apart as they continue to carry out their actions against us.

The crisis in Russia may be over for the time being, but we must have no doubts that the terrorists have planned and are planning their future targets.  They must be stopped at all costs, and stopped now.  They must be hunted down and dealt with properly so that they are never in a position to carry out their acts on the human race and the civilised world as we know it again.

This is a fight that we are all involved in, and it won't end tomorrow.  It will be a long war with many casualties, but it is one that we must win.  The onus is on everyone to condemn terrorism, no matter what country you are from.  This war has been declared on the innocent people of the world who have a right to go about their business without the fear of getting caught up in an act of terrorism.

This is a fight that we must win, and it's a time for all decent people to stand firmly against anyone who uses children and innocent people as pawns in their acts of terrorism against us.
