At the turn of the millennium, the Scottish Parliament had been set up and the members of the Scottish Parliament were in place for a four year term.  Robin Harper and some other MSPs decided to do an act at the Pleasance to raise money for Childline - a childrens charity.   The MSPs involved were:  Robin Harper from the Green Party, Brian Adam from the Scottish Nationalist Party, Dennis Canavan an independent Member of the Scottish Parliament, Jamie Stone from the Liberal Democrats, Alex Ferguson, Nicholas Johnston, Jamie McGrigor, Lindsay McIntosh and David Mundell from the Conservative Party, Pauline McNeill, Ellain Murray and Kathie Peattie from the Labour Party.  This show went down well and money was raised for charity with the promise of more shows to come.
