World-renowned solo percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie at Filmhouse in Edinburgh to introduce a screening Touch the Sound.

The screening is part of the Made in Edinburgh programme, which showcases and celebrates the moving image industry talent based in the Edinburgh City Region. In Touch the Sound, which was co-produced by Leslie Hills and Trevor Davies of Edinburgh-based company Skyline Productions in 2004, award-winning director and cinematographer Thomas Riedelsheimer takes us on a journey through a universe of sound with Evelyn Glennie. The screening marks the launch of the film on DVD.

Glennie is one of the world's foremost musicians, a Grammy-winning classical percussionist whose solo work is unrivalled. She lost her hearing aged eight years old and lives in this universe in a way that almost no-one else does. Together with her we dive into the world of sound and rhythms - into the world of our origins.

Both Evelyn Glennie and producer Leslie Hills will be at the Filmhouse to talk about their experiences of making the documentary and to take part in a question and answer session after the screening.
