Outstanding performances from two of Poland’s best known acting talents (Jadwiga Jankowska-Cieslak and Krzysztof Stroinski) are the beating heart of this restrained and assured family drama. When their 40-year-old marriage is threatened by a shocking revelation, Joanna and Jan find themselves suddenly estranged. Torn by politics, secrets and the ghosts of the past, their once solid relationship gradually begins to fall apart. A thoughtful, touching drama making an allegorical nod to recent Polish history.
