Based on a true story, Lemon Tree turns a simple snapshot of a minor political situation into a touching and memorable analogy for a country divided. A Palestinian widow finds her beloved lemon grove threatened when an Israeli government minister moves in next door. Expertly handled by director Eran Riklis, this features a stunning central performance by Hiam Abbass (star of Riklis’ The Syrian Bride, and also seen here in The Visitor).
